About Us

A missionary family….

Elder Robert Bean was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and Sister Cathy Bean was born and raised in St. George, Utah.   

This is Sister Bean’s first mission and Elder Bean’s second mission, having served a 2-year mission in Texas at age 19.   They have 5 sons, Jeff, Tom, Rick, Andy and Kirk, all of whom have also served full-time missions for the church.  That brings the count to 8 missions so far… but wait….there are more Beans!

Bob and Cathy leave behind 14 grandkids… there’s Nathan Bean, Katie Bean, Jason Bean, Joey Bean, Rebekah Bean, Ryan Bean, Tanner Bean, Dallin Bean, Gwen Bean, Fiona Bean, Miles Bean, Charlie Bean, Sam Bean, Brooke Bean, and another baby girl on the way!  (did I leave any future missionaries out?) .

Please join their family and friends as we follow the adventures of Elder and Sister Bean in the Tonga Nuku’alofa Mission.
